in Adobe 5.0
Edit
Preferences
uncheck 1st option "display pdf in browser"
this will cause Adobe to always launch a new window (which always seems to
work)

in earlier versions, text is different, but similar.
Problem is Adobe default it "on" but doesn't bother to check if IE at proper
setup to support it.

Also have found problems loading new version of Adobe Reader "over" an old
version.
Un-install old first.
Some problems reported if opening/closing windows of pdf repeatedly for a
long time (
like my testing a new afp report) after 30 or 40 opens Windows Blue Screen.
Definitely replace reader if older than version 4. I like 5.0 even better.

We have 90-100 companies, with both Netscape & IE, at various levels getting
reports daily from our system.
