No, I had a few mis-placed quotes. The correct qryslt
statement looks like this;

 QRYSLT('LSTCHG *GE ' *CAT &BEGUPD *CAT +
 ' *AND LSTCHG *LE ' *CAT &ENDUPD *CAT +
 ' *AND RECTYP = "M" ')
