IBM shows an extrenal DVD-RAM and CD-R writer and reader as an
AS/400 option, to be available May 2001. Has anyone got one of
these?Supposed to cost about $1500

I'd like you all to buy them and throw away your tape drives.
Then I will sell you my attached VTS device, which will download
faster than tape to PC disk, then write DVD-Rs later at your
leisure, multiple copies, etc.

And you can load them back to your AS/400 through their
conveniently included peripheral.

Anybody go DVD (even read only) on their As/400?
