Most, maybe, but not all. I use something called FirstClass -- it's our
corporate standard because (if I  understand correctly) it has Japanese
language support and it's not Outlook (email virus? what's an email virus?
;-). On the subject of directing mail into specific folders, the "Help" is
very direct: "you can't".

Having said that, I also strongly support selective quoting, as well as
(another recurring concern) Changing The Subject Line. Scanning header
topics in digest mode doesn't help much when the "how do I clear my paper
jam?" thread has morphed into "what's the best way to set up an odbc
connection?" without anyone's bothering to change the subject line.

As a result, I typically get dozens of messages daily in my main mailbox,
and I tend to scan all of them because I can't trust the subject. The down
side is this takes a lot of time; the up side is that I often find
interesting items in posts that I probably would have deleted based on
their (accurate) subject lines alone. All in all, I've learned quite a bit
from these lists -- things that have saved me a lot of time at work -- so
I think I'm still coming ahead. . . .
