Just for the record, are you running NT (4) or Windows 2000? If W2K, what
service pack?

Nope. No backup and we use the Norton auto update feature. This is the
kind of slow response where it takes five minutes to paint a screen. My pc
has a reset button; I use it often.

The pc has 256 megs of ram and a fast enough processor to run NT, so it
should be able to handle emulation, word processing, internet and e-mail. I
don't really worry about it too much. Rebooting gives me a chance to get up
and walk around.
