Personally, the idea of creating a file name with an asterisk in it is
pretty darned silly, but what can you do.  Even sillier is the idea that if
you're in one shell, the command works one way, but if you're in another
shell it works differently.  I guess when you want to tell someone how to do
something in *nix, you'd better tell them not only the command, but also the
shell to use.

But now we digress into the land of *nix, at which point it quickly becomes
a matter of opinion, rather than fact.
