And doing an <F1> down on the bottom where it's telling you the "error
occurred with the option".
You have to move your cursor down to that line and do an <F1>

What does that tell you ?
Can you do a copy/paste and show us what that screen says.

When I do WRKJOB, then 10, and it shows 3>>WRKJOB, PF10 doesn't change the
display and
there is no joblog to look at, just the one-liner. I don't think the job is
ever getting started, based on the error message "Error occurred with the
option" and getting booted back to the SAVE screen.

When you do a WRKJOB and then do option '10'

You need to do <F10> to display all detailed messages

Followed by a <F18> which is shift-F6 on a pc.

This will take you to the bottom of your joblog...and maybe there will be
something there to help out.

Now have I confused you enough :)

Here's the sequence I followed:
   GO SAVE
   21
Screen ENDSBS End Subsystem, just hit ENTER
Immediate failure with message "Error occured with the option", and "21"
displayed on the
         command line
   WRKJOB
   10
Screen shows only 3>>WRKJOB and the "bottom" indicator at the bottom
of the screen.

It sounds like you are using Operations Console if the main console is
attached to a PC.
If that's the case.....you should be able to do the go backup option 21
signed on as QSECOFR w/ no problem.

Did you find out any more details on that joblog that we can go by ?
