Correct. The people who post the messages saying "these netiquette requests
waste just as much bandwidth as the postings they're complaining about" are
being rather short sighted. These threads always occur from time to time in
busy groups and are necessary to negotiate a common style, or as near as we
can hope to get to one.

When a busy road is resurfaced it causes some temporary inconvenience to
traffic, but it's unavoidable if the road is to stay open in the long term.
