Ron--

The way it works: You create your overlay / segment as a graphic on
a PC. Yes, it's required. The AS/400 just doesn't do well creating
graphics. [Well, there -was- that bit-by-bit scheme that you could
use 'way back when, but it's like using a nail set and a tack hammer
to carve a life-sized statue.]

Once you have your graphic created, you use a special print driver
from IBM and print to a file, which is uploaded to the AS/400 (shared
folder / NT-style share / IFS / etc). You then CPYFRMPCD ]or stream
file] , then use CRTOVL to create an object of type *OVL.

Once you have the object type *OVL created, you never have to refer
to the PC again (until you change the graphic).
