Thanks for your help Andy.  I finally found it in Info Center.  I thought
that media definitions would be a simple matter of binding two tape devices
into one logical device.  The API documentation shows that it's a bit more
involved.  If I do it the media definitions will have to be saved
strategically so that I'll be able to restore.  The fact that I can't easily
perform multiple library concurrent stream saves will put this project on
the back burner.

As far as I know, the only way to create a media definition would be
through the use of the API listed below:

Create Media Definition (QSRCRTMD, QsrCreateMediaDefinition) API

If you do a search in the infocenter, you should be able to get the
specifics and complete list of parameters.  BRMS will create the media
definitions on the fly, without BRMS you would need to use the API.
