Nope. Global.asa has only the following:

Session("ConnectionString") = "Provider=HitOleDB400;User
ID=WebUser;Password=????;Data Source=Sol;Use Unq Tab Names=true;remove
blanks=true;Binary Chars=TRUE;Libraries=,WDGEN,YAPPOBJ,*USRLIBL;Package
Library=QTEMP"

With the password changed to protect the innocent. I use session() instead
of application() because I like the ability to override the connection
string if necessary. The connection is created and deleted as needed. Now
remember, as I said OLEDB does connection pooling so the connection isn't
really closed for a few minutes.

Is your database connection defined in the IIS global.asa file? For
example, did you also do something like the following?:

right-mouse click the global.asa file
choose Add Data Connection
