Yes, it states field XTXMITDATE, which is the last field in the file being
queried, has the invalid data, but every record in the file being queried
has "0001-01-01" in it.
When I executed a statement like the one you suggested interactively, I
received no errors.
Just for grins, I executed the statement you suggested and also received no
errors.

Does it indicate which field is in error?
Select ... from filea where errfld<>date('0001-01-01')
