A client has a payroll application with comment lines in it from 1983. Exactly when the programs were first written is not clear but the point is that the application has worked for at least 18 years and is now brittle. Changes need to be made to correct some of the brittleness but it occurs to me that there may be good payroll application software out there that is currrent and also affordable. Any suggestions would be appreciated, off-line advice would be welcomed.
