What that is saying is that the fields in the file were changed in some way
(another field added, a fields description changed, etc). Rename the file
and perform the restore again. Then compare the files specs with DSPFFD or
another utility like DBU or HAWKEYE.

Subject: Member Level Id's

I am trying to do a restore of some files to a different library. I am
receiving a message CPF3283:

Message . . . . : Saved file or member level ID not same as file ILI.

Cause . . . . . : The restore operation of file ILI in library BPCSFCD was
not done because the member level identifier (ID) for the file that
presently exists on the system is not the same as the member level ID for
the file on the save media. If the level identifier that is not the same
is
for a specific member, the member name is *N.
Recovery . . . : Either delete the existing file (DLTF command), or
remove
the member (RMVM command). Then try the restore request again.

What is the "Member level ID"? It's not the record format id, since they
are identical. If I remember correctly, if I allow member differences on
the restore, the restore would rename the original files like ILI00001 and
cause all sorts of havoc with the logicals. I don't want this to happen.

How can I get them the same?

Bill
