Hello,

does anybody know the differences between a

   SAVLIB (LIB1 LIB2 LIB3)

and a

   SAVLIB (LIB1) SAVLIB(LIB2) SAVLIB (LIB3) ?

We have split up our nightly backup into two jobs - one saves all important
data libraries in a single SAVLIB, the other
takes care of the rest (reading the libraries from a file and doing a SAVLIB
for each).

The save of the data libs (about15) has 50GB and takes 30 minutes, the other
libraries (about 400) also have 50GB and
take 2hrs 15min.

The data libs also give the message "30000 locks exceeded..." - I guess it
first locks all objects in all libraries.

So, any ideas on the implications - performance? others?

Thanks,

Oliver
