That seems sensible, but the other prototype was correct. The
C prototype is
int isalpha (int);
But even if the C prototype were this
int isalpha (char c);
your prototype wouldn't be correct for RPG because of 2 things:
1. C thinks "char" is an integer type, RPG doesn't
2. C thinks "char" is a 4-byte integer type, when it comes to
parameter passing, and RPG thinks it's 1 byte
The V5R1 EXTPROC(*CWIDEN) can handle these problems for you.
Otherwise, you need to jump through some hoops. (See the URL
I posted in my previous "isalpha" post.)
