Does the CAE ADO driver support the "Seek" method ?

Is this the method used in ADO speak to CHAIN and READE a database file ?

My VB code looks like this:
  Dim cn As New ADODB.Connection
  Dim rs As New ADODB.Recordset
  cn.Open "PROVIDER=IBMDA400;DATA SOURCE=AMARI;", "", ""

  rs.ActiveConnection = cn
  rs.Source = "select IXIMGF, IXWRKS, IXKEY1, IXKEY2 from PGMRZZ.IMGIDX"
  rs.Open

  rs.MoveFirst
  While Not rs.EOF
    rs.MoveNext
  Wend

That code basically reads the IMGIDX file in lib PGMRZZ sequentially from
begin to end.  Works fine.

Now I try to do something more useful. I want to chain to a rcd in the file.
So I run code that looks like this:
 Dim keys As Variant
 keys = Array(Key1, Key2)      'very nice cmd.
                                                   'creates a dynamic array
w/2 elems.
 rs.Seek keys, adSeekFirstEQ 'chain to 1st rcd w/keys equal arg1 keys.

And my code fails on the "rs.Seek" stmt. The error is:
   "Object or provider is not capable of performing requested operation"

Please tell me I am doing something stupid and that the ADO implemented by
CAE does support CHAIN and READE in a file.

I am:  V4R4, CAE V4R5, W2K, VB 6.0

Thanks,

Steve Richter
