Alternatively, and fitting nicely into the "crude but effective" category,
you could write a program that you can run on an ad-hoc basis that simply
blasts through the message queue removing the unwanted messages. It's not
quite as simple as it should be because of the subtleties of message keys
and next messages. As it happens I've got a program at home that does this
for user message queues that should be easy to adapt. If you want a copy,
