I know not of what I speak but I think that it will access pf's and lf's
but not dspf's.

I'm not sure what is meant by "DDS" here. AFAIK, no HLL on an AS/400 or
iSeries uses DDS as such; they all refer to the compiled external objects.
It's been a few years, but I seem to remember that VA-RPG can also refer to
external compiled objects (files) on the host. Similar to host-based RPG IV
for example, the external description is retrieved at compile-time in order
to set up structures needed at run-time or something like that.
