What I am trying to do is the following. 1) Current system. They have an excel spreadsheet stored under QDLS. Many people get into it. Routinely the file gets deleted and all that is left in this directory is several numeric file names with no extensions. Sort of like temp files. I think they are shoehorning excel into a multiuser system. 2) First baby step. Create a database on the 400. Journal it. All maintenance and display will be done with Excel.
