Hi Guys

Received the following query from a colleague - thought someone here might
be able to help. Given the nature of the problem, I thought it is probably
relevent to most of us, but if anyone wants to answer in Java400 based on
the content fire away :)

 >>> I need some help coming up with an architecture for an Extract /
Transform / Load process. I am writing a java program which runs on an as400
and pulls data from Db2 V7.2 EE running on a Windows 2000. The solution, I
think, is to establish a connection to the AS400 via the Java Toolbox and
connect to the remote database using DRDA. Has any body seen examples of a
program running on an AS400 getting data from DB2 on NT. I have seen lots of
examples of java program(s) running on NT connecting to an AS400 but not the
other way around. Is there any other way ?. I had originally envisaged
created two JDBC connections, one for each database manager and passing
information between the two?. However I am not sure how a java program
running on an AS400 can connect to Db/2 for NT without using Client
Configuration Assistant ?. thanks in advance Murray Crofskey

Any suggestions appreciated

Regards
Evan Harris
