Hi guys,
Here's some more info:

The 4050 has had the IPDS chip removed, I believe it was hooked up as a CA
printer before, or maybe twinax? They stole the IPDS chip to be used
somewhere else and set it up on the network. And, it's on a Jetdirect box,
I believe. As I said, it's in a remote branch and I can't get to it
directly.
I've been "playing" around with the lpi and cpi on the Ovrprtf and I just
haven't been able to come up with a consistent combination, so far.
Jim, I'd really appreciate that WCST...thanks.
I've been able, in the past, to avoid messing with a WCST. With all these
network-attached printers we're being bombarded with, looks like I need to
develop a new "skill".

Original post:

Hi,
Anyone with any words of wisdom on getting a HP4050 printing correctly? We
just attached this printer to the network as a network printer and one user
prints some 9x11 reports which just won't line up right. I've tried
changing the printer file in all the ways I can think of and I just can't
get it to work consistently.

All of us have seen it, first page runs over and then you'll get a
combination of blank pages and real short pages.

Another problem is that it's a remote location, so I can't run back and
forth from the desk to the printer to use the "try this, try that" method.

If anyone has some perls of wisdom, please share

Thanks for all your tips and advice.
