The 'quote rmd' FTP option is not a part of the FTP standard, I think it's
something that IBM added to the iSeries server.

The best way to kick off a job on a Unix box, IMHO, is to use SSH.   But,
since SSH isn't widely available for OS/400, another option would be to
use the RUNRMTCMD command on the OS/400 side, and the rexecd server on the
Unix side.

If you do enable rexecd, make sure you consider the security implications.
Make sure your Unix box only accepts hosts that it trusts, using a
firewally, or /etc/hosts.allow as appropriate.
