Not having done that exact thing I can't comment but one of the things that
IBM has done recently (and not advertised too well) is decouple PC based
products from iSeries versions.  That is, V5R1 CAE is not linked to V5R1
OS/400.  Same thing for Code.  There are more I'm sure, but in general the
version of the PC product does NOT mandate an equivalent version of OS/400.
