I would imagine there is no way to check this without a list of all valid
social security numbers from the Social Security Administration.

I also imagine they keep those numbers very secret to prevent identity
theft.

Does anyone know of a way to check a Social Security Number for validity?
(I.E. - A clerk enters an SSN on a screen and we want to be sure that the
clerk didn't enter '123-45-6789' or some such nonsense.)
