Nothing to an outfile. But yes to *PRINT

DSPMSGD RANGE(*ALL)
         MSGF(QCPFMSG)
         DETAIL(*FULL)
         FMTTXT(*YES)
         OUTPUT(*PRINT)

Then you'd do the usual CPYSPLF, and then break it out into a file if you want.
