Joe, I would think that should be enough. I thought they require about 400 CPW minimum. I'm running 4.0.2 on an LPAR with about 440 batch CPW and WAS comes up OK. Bloat yes. Mooooooooooooo! I run a 1GHz/512MB PC for the console, and I sure wouldn't want to see it on anything slower, like the fellow with 300MHz. My console starts in about 3 or 4 minutes. This article, tweaks for underpowered machine: http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/c1309d212e616c9f862569ec0070adc1/c9 329187631b353e862569ad00404708?OpenDocument Is there a firewall between your console and AS/400? Maybe you need to open some more ports. -Marty --__--__-- From: "Joe Pluta" <joepluta@PlutaBrothers.com> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Subject: RE: Problem with admistrative console Date: Fri, 14 Jun 2002 12:13:31 -0500 Reply-To: midrange-l@midrange.com > From: Urbanek, Marty > > Also, you might try starting it from qshell via STRWASINST. Thanks, Marty. I may be forced to do the STRWASINST at some point. And it may well be that the machine is underpowered. It's a model 720 rated at 420/240 CPW. It's sad, though, that I was able to run WebSphere V2.0 on my model 150 (albeit very slowly) with 35CPW. Software bloat. Joe
