In the June issue of iSeries News is an article by Mel Beckman on TCP/IP treasures. Among other things are instructions on the SNTP in V5R1. I followed his directions, but no matter what time server I use in the CHGNTPA command (and I've tried a few, both by name and IP address), when I do a STRTCPSVR *NTP it never works. The QSYSOPR message queue gets the following messages: No response received from the NTP server. SNTP Client initialization failure. Could this mean the appropriate port (I think it's 123) is blocked in our Cisco router? Thanks. -- Jeff Crosby Dilgard Frozen Foods, Inc. P.O. Box 13369 Ft.
