In DOS (or a command prompt in Windows) you see these in a DIR listing (of which WRKLNK is an analog). In UNIX/LINUX you can suppress these or see them. BTW, there can be other objects with a '.' at the start. These are mostly UNIX-type system and hidden objects, generally. Specifying DSPOPT(*USER) will suppress all objects that start with '.' > On one of our systems if I do WRKLNK I see directories of '.' and '..' . > If I put a 5 next to each I see copies of the whole directory structure and > if I keep putting a 5 next to them, I get the same thing over and over > again. I do not see this on any of our other systems and I do not see it > within Operations Navigator. So is it safe to say that I can delete these > directories?
