Rochester Infocentre engineers provided me with this link to the SQL
Concepts
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/index.htm?info/sql
p/rbafymst314.htm

Am guessing, but as Alexei says it is likely that the raw SQL processor
doesn't know where to put the returned records. There probably isn't any
workstation display code in RUNSQLSTM, so it can't just display them, like
STRSQL or STRQMQRY can.
