The error is probably due to the SYST subcommand which is
automatically sent
by the OS/400 FTP client after login to the server. Prior to V4R2,
the
command was sent even before the login. This really caused problems
with
some servers. In V4R2 IBM moved SYST to after the login, but they
still
didn't provide a way to turn it off.
If your server supports the SYST command, you see a nice message
telling you
what you are logged into. If not, you see an error that you can't do
anything about.
