Best way to automate this task is through PC, If you know PC just write
simple VB program or a macro which will check a dataque on AS/400 and will
download the file in your Excel format or any other format (great XML :) )

Write a flag in the dataque which will trigger the VB program to start
downloading the file.  Interesting hum   :)

Hi all,
I am looking to automate the process of downloading a query/400 outfile to
an Excel spreadsheet.
I am not sure if we can schedule the client access 'Data transfer from
AS/400' option to do the job automatically.
I am looking for a CL command to do this. Can anyone help me please.
Thanks,
Sunitha.
