You didn't have to put V5R1 on.  I bet developing it costed more than $.20.

Nobody asked for V5R1. V5R1 has new functions that supports
the new hardware and is thus a "new hardware support cost". A copy
of V5R1 to install on old hardware costs only the 20 cents for the
CD.
