If you lower prices and limit upgradability it has the net effect for many
customers of not lowering prices.  The server is cheaper, but we've
completely devalued your investment.

It's more like saying:  You still cannot have your cake, but we're going to
move it to a different cupboard.

I would like to point out that we, as a user community, went to IBM and
said that we wanted lower priced systems.

IBM responded by lowering prices, but limited the upgradability of systems
to offset this expense.
