Having been dragged kicking and screaming back to the dark side of
configuring printers...

Don't assume that WRKWTR will show you all printer writers.  That defaults
to *PRT.  Changing WRKWTR from *PRT to *ALL will show you all (active)
writers.  If the remote printer writer is not running you'll have to do a
STRRMTWTR - there will be no option 1 for a stopped remote writer.
Sometimes these may not have a device - just an output queue.  Sometimes
people insist on a device so that they can print to it with query and they
want to change an existing spool file to this output queue and cannot
learn OUTQ(XXX/YYY) but insist on DEV(XXX).  This will get you in trouble.
 Because then there will be a writer that they assume they can use WRKWTR
to stop and start.  The device is what creates a traditional printer
writers.

Do the CFGTCP and look at the hosts table and make sure that is right.  If
they didn't use a host table - check your DNS.

Do the WRKOUTQD and make sure they did it by name, and not IP address.

Our IT group changed the IP address of one of our printers, so I went to
the
host table entries, and "renamed" the printer to the new IP address. But,
spoolfiles will not print from this Q.
Do I need to STRHOSTSVR *ALL to reset this?
