Steven Have you considered using Query Management queries instead? I think the locking, if any, would be minimal, since it's really an SQL statement, not anything that has to check things in the file very much. If you have Query Manager, there's an interface very like the Query/400 one, until you get used to native SQL Or you just enter an SQL statement into a source member and run CRTQMQRY. There's also RTVQMQRY, which can convert a QRYDFN to a QMQRY source member. Not everything translates, but most does. And the layout is handled well by QMFORMs. Biggest problem is changing from RUNQRY to STRQMQRY Just a thought, but may solve your lock problem. Vern At 12:36 PM 9/5/02 +0100, you wrote:
