You came up with one fantastic analogy - Domino. Yes, you do have to check
the Domino pages carefully, especially the cross reference between what
versions of Domino are supported on what versions of OS/400. And there is
nothing in the Software Installation Manual, nor the memo to users about
either TSM or Domino.

But what the heck was San Francisco General Ledger?

Isn't it the other way around? Yes, Tivoli is an IBM product, but it's not
a question of the operating system supporting the layered product -- it's a
question of the layered product running on the operating system. When we
prepare to upgrade we go through all of our third party products and see
what we have to do to get them running on the new version. We don't run
ADSM/TSM, but we approached Domino similarly.

Have you gone after the Tivoli folks to find out when, if ever, TSM will
run
on V5R2?

Back when we looked at ADSM five years ago one of the things that scared us
off was the fact that they said they were always about nine months behind
bringing their products to the AS/400.

CAUTION!

Although it is documented nowhere in the V5R2M0 be ye warned that Tivoli
Storage Manager aka TSM aka 5697-TSM aka 5697TSM aka ADSM aka Adstar TSM
(you think I got the search engine covered now?) is not supported under
V5R2M0 aka VRM520 aka 520 of OS/400 aka OS400 of the iSeries aka AS/400
aka AS400.

IBM has gone into CYA mode now and are not even agreeing that they should
update the memo to users, V5R2M0 Software Installation manual or any other
web site or documentation. They say it is a product from another vendor,
Tivoli. They make no mention of the fact that they own Tivoli.
