Thanks for the input. In the client's original problem the program has compiled the program since the problem has surfaced. I have the program building a list a problem applications, noting files, pgms etc. Next we will pick a couple and set test env as required and try to find similarities. I hope that way to get my arms around something small enough to work with. __________________________________________________ Kirk Goins IBM Certified iSeries Technical Solutions Expert IBM Certified Designing IBM e-Business Solutions Pacific Information Systems - An IBM Premier Business Partner 503-674-2985 kirkg@pacinfosys.com -----Original Message----- From: Pete Massiello [mailto:pmassiello@os-solutions.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 01, 2002 4:52 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Performance Issues after V4R5 to V5R1 upgrade We had a similar problem with one of our customers going from 4.4 to 4.5, and it turned out that the system was building an access plan (NOT an access path) each time, because the program had hit its max size and could not update the access plan inside the program. We wound up needing to recompile a few of their programs, as they had hit the magic number of 16MB in this case. These programs were originally compiled on older releases (still in the Version 4 time frame, don't remember the release). Sounds very similar, you might want to check out the sizes of the programs in question.
