Hi Pam, We recently had a situation where a user wrote a query that built a physical file that was big enough to bring our system down. (This took several hours by the way). Anyway, we found a way to limit the size of a physical file that is generated by query. It is done by creating a data area in QGPL that looks like this: Data area . . . . . . . : QQUPRFOPTS Library . . . . . . . : QGPL Type . . . . . . . . . : *CHAR Length . . . . . . . . : 80 Text . . . . . . . . . : Query/400 User Profile Options Value Offset *...+....1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5 0 ' QUERY400 ' 50 ' 200000 ' The above data area tells query to limit the output file to 200000 records and to send all batch queries to Jobq QUERY400. We have been using this for about 6mos and it seems to work well. Good Luck, Vance Stanley Devon Houston,Texas __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
