OS400 V5R2. I'm trying to start my SMTP server, and I see this in the joblog. The subsystem is QSYSWRK, jobname is QTSMTSRVD. It's CPU% is approximately 43%, and I've been waiting about 20 minutes since I issued the command STRTCPSVR *SMTP. Yesterday, it started within seconds and I noticed about 150 jobs all with the name QTSMTPCLTP. Job 020738/QTCP/QTSMTPSRVD started on 10/08/02 at 07:25:13 in subsystem QSYSWRK in QSYS. Job entered system on 10/08/02 at 07:25:13. Job 020738/QTCP/QTSMTPSRVD submitted. Start of prestart jobs in progress. Space offset X'00000000' or teraspace offset X'0000000000000000' is outside current limit for object QTMSGPS. .. Bottom Questions: 1. What is that joblog entry telling me? Is there a PTF I need to install? 2. Why were there so many of the QTSMTPCLTP jobs yesterday? Is there a SMTP configuration parameter that I'm overlooking?
