Jeff I looked at Windows - didn't see an API for this, but, then, it's been awhile. I could see using ODBC or OLE-DB. There're also remote command functions in Client Access that are usable in VB or VC++ or Delphi. The Windows doc on rexec says that the remote host needs a .rhosts file in the home directory of the requesting user - then they are authenticated without password. I don't think the 400 does this. A different way might be to use ftp in batch on the PC - ftp -s:filename host filename can have the user ID and password, as well as a quote site rcmd cl_command_stringWell, that's what I suggested to them in the first place, and they said they're going to use rexec via Windows API. I assume that's how they're able to enter a password. -Jeff _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
