With all the 3rd party products that create PDF files, I'd expect that it's
a standard OS400 API now. Depending on your requirements and resources, you
might want to purchase a 3rd party product to do what you want rather than
develope from scratch.

You may be referring to the InfoPrint Server product, which is an IBM
Software package for the iSeries.  It became available in V5R1 I
believe.  There are some manuals available in the supplemental manuals
section of the InfoCenter for both V5R1 and V5R2.

Yes, it will generate PDF output and place it in the IFS if that's what
you want.  It is, I believe, an additional-cost package, not a part of
the base OS.
