Early implementation was in Pascal - CISC, systems, and, I think, even into
v3r6 or v3r7. But later is supposed to have been rewritten. Leastwise, I've
not seen a Pascal error output for a long time when debugging.

such claim before.  Is this one of those things that was true at one time?
(Also, I can't get anyone to be specific as to which resources are being
