Or in a separate area for path name, with a pointer in OIR to it, maybe. Run the DMP command against a stream file - there's a path name section at the end. I assume it theoretically can be as long as a segment - 16mb - 4kb (some fudge factor I forget what size) BTW, I think DMP is kind of fun - it shows you the associtaed space stuff that is kept for stream files, just as is done for all 400 objects. That's probably what contributes sometimes to larger sizes for IFS objects - the associated space stuff traverses some boundary. But you DO get to see the actual data, unlike DMPOBJ on a physical file, where the dataspace is never shown.
