Generally, my suggestion would be to skip V5R1 and go right to V5R2 from V4R5. Keep in mind that V5R1 does give you backwards compatibility to V4R4, and V5R2 only goes backwards to V4R5. Also keep in mind that if you are at V4R4, the biggest jump that you can make is to V5R1. I think that V5R2 is great.
