Okay, then I'll add another. LAWYERS... How else do You explain the so-called "penalty" for being convicted of a monopoly somehow having the clause that MicroSoft will "donate" (something like) a half-billion dollars of PCs and Windoze to Primary Schools...? (Thus, gaining share in one-a the few remaining marketspaces that Apple dominates.) Still, there are ALWAYS going to be some technical advantages to one OS or another... But none, imo, has the INTELLIGENT DESIGN in it that CPF/OS/400 had architected into it from the VERY BEGINNING. Nonetheless, one thing the other OSs have is market awareness, which SURE DOES factor into the success or failure of the OS, significantly. You have gained skills in all 3 major OSs, Don, (and Mac OS-X is going the way of the *nixes) so Your perspective is sure interesting...! Was also curious, did You pick up any interesting tidbits at the recent pSeries conference...? j | -----Original Message----- | From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com | [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Don | Sent: Saturday, October 26, 2002 12:50 PM | To: midrange-l@midrange.com | Subject: RE: Dealing with changing time | | | Uh, if you want to add more than one, add systems management when | compared to unix....at least in MS you don't have all the disk management | BS that you do in unix....
