... no, that's true.  I expect and rely on someone else's efforts to make
sure the plane is safely designed, constructed, maintained, fuelled etc - as
does the pilot, who could not service any of the major components himself
either.

Arthur C Clarke: Any technology which is sufficiently advanced should be
indistinguishable from magic.

We must trust out fellow professionals in this high-tech world.  No one can
know it all, and I'm glad I don't have to learn and understand particle
physics, quantum mechanics etc to use modern electronics.
