>From V5R1 and using the internal modem you can do the following: ADDTCPPTP CFGPRF(DIALINPPP) OPRMODE(*ANS) RSRCNAME(CMN01) MODEM('2771 Internal Modem') LCLINTNETA('10.1.1.1') RMTINTNETA('10.1.1.2') TEXT('Dial into the internal Modem') I assume you meant 2771 internal modem You will have to verify the comm port. then from the WRKTCPPTP menu take optoin 9 to start the session. Simple setup on the PC, just like connecting to your ISP As setup above the IP address of the iSeries will be 10.1.1.1 and the IP address of you PC will be 10.1.1.2. ------------------------- Bryan Dietz 3X Corporation 614-410-9205 "jim essinger" <esinger@fmtc.com> Sent by: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com 11/14/2002 12:24 PM Please respond to midrange-l@midrange.com To <midrange-l@midrange.com> cc Subject PPP Dial in setup question Greetings, and HELP! I am new to setting up dial up PPP communications. I have checked the archives, and not found anything I can use, or I don't recognize it as answering my question. What I am trying to do is set up a PPP Line/Controller/Device description in OS/400 to allow a PC to dial the iSeries, and get a 5250 screen. What I would like to find is a setup wizard that will configure the line/controller/device, and tell me how to set up the PC. I am assuming that the PC (W2k) would be using a dial up similar to dialing to an ISP internet connection. Then I would use Personal Communicaions (or iSeries Access) 5250 to telnet into the iSeries, or give the 5250 a IP address and act as if the iSeries was on the same LAN as the PC. If you can point me to the archives, that would be good. If you could point me to a red book that would be great! Any help is appreciated, needed, and desired. Thanks in advance!!
