Joe, Is it running out of disk? Is is way overworked? I did have something similar happen a few years ago on a very overworked F35. I had done everything to "stretch" it. Had "faster-than-IBM" memory, "faster-than-IBM" disk, and as much optimizing as I could do. Just before we (me and the F35) convinced management it was time to upgrade, it would just stop. It did that about 3 times, right in the middle of the workday. The only way out was to IPL. No errors, no messages, no trail to follow, it just stopped. The only unofficial answer I ever got was from a senior CE, he said that the processor couldn't keep up with the instructions coming in and some would get trampled.(my wording :). Said he'd only seen it once or twice before in a long career with IBM. Not much help, I know, but it's all I got. AS/Resources, Inc.
