Along these same lines, we have a 9406-170 that was attached to a UPS, but
the UPS (not under maintenance) has died. We'd like to opt for a cheaper
solution (such as SmartUPS). The problem we have is that the power cables
do not have ends that will plug into a standard (US) receptacle.

How would I go about obtaining the necessary power cables to eliminate the
170's dependence on that defunct piece of equipment?

Thanks,
Dennis

All,

I need to get a UPS for my 9406-170. My requirements are basically that I
need to protect my system from power spikes. I don't need to keep the
system alive for very long, really just long enough to power it down in the
event of an extended power outage. I have done a little research, and I'm
not sure if I want to use a 9910.

Whatever unit I buy, it would be nice to be able to cable it to the AS/400
so I can enable the auto power-down feature on the AS/400 side. Do I have
to have a particular type of UPS and cable in order to enable this feature?

Anybody have a recommendation for this? Brand? / Supplier? Can I just go
to Fry's Electronics and buy an appropriately sized unit?
